The passion to become a skilled sushi chef began at a young age for Chef Jackie Lin. Serving as an apprentice for 12 years under Zen’s Chef, Seichi Kashiwabara, Chef Jackie developed the broad and complex skills required to make quality sushi.

From the subtle requirements of preparing top-quality sushi rice to the selection and preparation of exceptional seafood, Jackie honed a philosophy and approach of uncompromising quality of ingredients and technique. Jackie’s passion for sushi led him to the opening of his inaugural restaurant, Shoushin, a luxe Japanese sushi restaurant in Toronto’s affluent north-end. Here, Jackie eagerly shares his love and knowledge of traditional Edomae style sushi, as discerning lovers of Japanese cuisine enjoy the simplicity of elegant simplicity of excellent sushi that is the most difficult 

to achieve. Now, with many years of experience, Chef Jackie Lin brings two new concepts to Toronto, Tachi & Shari, offering Japanese cuisine consistent with his passion for excellence and authenticity and his desire to share traditional Japanese fare and food culture with his customers.
